For folks with Remington RP9 pistols searching for magazines, this is an option for you. We start with a new Mec-Gar P18 magazine that holds 17 rounds and tune the feed lips, bevel the right front edge to clear the magazine catch and adjust the follower to ride higher. A stock P18 magazine will not work without modification. The result of our tuning is a very reliable feeding magazine for you. Mec-Gar uses a great spring, the metallurgy of the tube and heat treat are excellent.
Note, the magazine’s capacity is limited to 10 rounds. A block has been inserted and a rivet installed to keep the magazine from being opened. This is for people in locations that have a 10 round magazine limit.
For a base plate, a Dawson +200 model is used and is what is shown in the photos. The Dawsons are machined aluminum and both look good and are durable. I’ve been selling and using them for years with no problems.
Even though the RP9 is a Para-style magazine tube, the original RP9 magazine’s follower has a slightly higher front lip, or shelf, that lifts the slide stop up to catch the slide and hold it open. Our follower is the normal height P18 model and lifts the slide stop half way up and holds the slide open. There is a close up photo showing the slide stop engaging the slide. If you hit the grip hard the slide will travel forward. In testing this did not prove to be a problem – we were reloading anyways so the slide closing wasn’t an issue. If I wanted to work on the pistol I just slid the slide stop up the rest of the way with the thumb. If this is a concern, the shelf could be built up with quality epoxy, such as JB Weld, if desired. It doesn’t bother me and I am trying to keep the price down for you.
This listing is for one magazine. Any extra parts or pistols shown in photos are not included.

Warranty and Liability
I do have something I want every reader/buyer to remember: PLEASE Always test the magazines before you need to rely on them – you must verify that a given combination of pistol, ammo and magazine are reliable and this is true for any firearm. My liability is limited to the purchase price of the magazine and they are warranted against manufacturing defects only (not including any required feed lip tuning) for 90 days.
