On February 5, 2020, Buck Knives announced the release of the Ground Combat Knife (GCK) collection featuring a variety of colors and both tanto and spear point blades.  In their own words “Designed for use in harsh environments, the Ground Combat Knives (GCK) offer impressive strength and durability. The use of 5160 spring steel increases the blade toughness, level of ductility, and offers excellent fatigue resistance. Field tested in the most demanding conditions, these mission ready tools deliver impressive functionality. Available in tricolored canvas Micarta or black G10 handles, the 891 GCK Spear Point and the 893 GCK Tanto feature 5 ½” steel blades with a Cerakote™ coating, blunt handle design for light hammering tasks and additional combat functions. Each version comes with an injection molded polypropylene MOLLE compatible sheath with multiple carry options.”

They came on the scene and were very well accepted – good steel and heat treat, very nice handle and sheath and then boom – they were discontinued in 2022.  Rumors circulated and the one I put the most stock in was the time, and thus money, it took to machine the uniquely “stepped” handle scales.  They are amazing to hold but that is a ton of milling to cut those shapes on each side.

So, I stocked up before they disappeared … until 4/2023 when they decided to make just 200 of these limited edition GCKs.   I snagged a few.

This is the 0893BO-B (catalog # 13573) which has a black tanto blade is about 0.19″ thick.  I’m saying it is black because I don’t know for sure what Cerakote color Buck used on these.  It is darker than the sniper grey they used on another GCK I have where I know the color.  Buck only sold these on their website directly and once they pulled the page, the details were lost.

The handle scales are carved from an OD Green Micarta – because of the canvas used, a really cool Flat Dark Earth (FDE) color resulted.  Given how they machined them, the handles are really cool looking and make for a very positive grip.

It comes with a very nice black sheath that is MOLLE compatible.

Overall weight is about 9.9oz

The yellow and black original Buck box shows very little wear.  The knife is like new and never been used.

Please note the buyer is responsible for compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.  We do not export.

I am not a Buck dealer and am selling this from my personal collection.  It is warranted to be as described and there are plenty of photos.  The knife is sold “as-is”.

I’m selling it only because I decided I needed to sell off some of my safe queens – meaning expensive knives that are sitting on the shelf and I know I will never use.

Why buy from me?  Well, we’ve been around for almost 20 years and sold hundreds of blades during this time.  Your order will be carefully packed in a protective cardboard box and shipped with insurance.

Please email us if you have any questions.  We will entertain serious offers.
